Zoe ~2-year-old female yellow Lab, 75-lbs, Spayed
Background: Zoe was found wandering the streets of Modesto and was very, very pregnant. She arrived at her foster home in Sacramento in mid-May and gave birth two days later to eleven healthy puppies. All of her puppies have been adopted, and now it is time for Zoe to score a fabulous forever home.
What Foster Says: She LOVES her human friends even more than she loved her puppies. She has a lot of energy and is very playful and doesn’t realize how big she is (which is why foster mom can’t keep her with their little wiener dogs and fragile backs). She needs an active family that know how to handle the typical lab energy. Zoe has a large lab/Shepherd mix brother who she loves to play with and would love to have a medium to large doggie friend to play with or a savvy smaller friend that is not prone to back issues. She does counter-surf and your carbs are not safe. She enjoys, bread, rolls and Boboli’s pizza crust along with a beef jerky -- LOL. She has torn up stuffed items and eaten books before so she is learning crate-training currently and doing well with that when not able to be with the humans though she’d prefer to be near you at all times.
She loves to cuddle with you and will gladly be a lap dog if you let her. She loves sleeping in bed with you too and will rest her head on your shoulder while she snuggles with you. Zoe does bark at anyone walking by the house though is getting better with redirection (foster home has 17 windows in front room so she can see EVERYTHING!). She does pull on the leash and we are working with her on that but she is so excited to see everything her enthusiasm gets the best of her. She is completely housebroken even if left for several hours, sleeps through the night in her crate as well.
What Rescue Rep Says: A lovely dog. Terrific candidate for a family with children and/or another dog. Adopter will need to commit to continue Zoe's on-leash training.
Medical: In fine health. Current on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative.
