Ollie ~4-month-old fox red male Lab, ~30 lbs. Not yet neutered

Background: Found as a stray on the streets of Stockton. Are you kidding me? Stockton shelter reached out to us and we brought him into our program on Thursday March 12th.

What Ollie's Foster Says: Ollie is a gentle pup with the softest golden coat and an irresistibly squishy puppy belly. He has a calm temperament and loves being close to his pack. His recall is 1000%! Ollie picked up fetch right away and has a very soft mouth—he happily brings toys back and politely gives them up so the game can continue. He has taken to happily chasing the water coming out of the garden hose. He sleeps through the night, does not bark, and is happiest simply being by your side. Potty training is easy with this little guy -- he knows where to go outdoors! Soft, warm, and full of quiet affection, Ollie is ready to become someone’s loyal best friend. 🐾

What Ollie's Rescue Rep Says: Oh my gosh! This is one fabulous puppy. Adopting a young puppy is much like having a newborn baby in the home: very demanding for care and attention, can't be left alone much, cries a lot -- especially at night when you want to sleep. Eat, poop/pee, play, sleep... repeat, repeat, repeat. Puppy-raising is also filled with joy and fun. Young puppies have sharp teeth and tend to go for human toes and arms when available. Young puppies quickly grow up and become big rowdy juveniles that need lots of exercise and structure and patience from their humans. Would be fine in a home with another (adult) dog. Ollie is a bit reserved and cautious when meeting new people; he would do best in an adult home (or one with older children). A chaotic and noisy home would not suit Sir Olliver.

Medical: Ollie appears to be in fine health. Still needs at least one more round of distemper vaccinations. Current on Rabies vax. Microchipping and neutering will be down the road. Ollie will need to be quarantined in his home (and backyard) until mid-April when he receives his final DHPP vaccination... to ensure he remains safe from parvo and other ailments.

Our volunteers donate their personal time phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
