Leo 6-year-old chocolate male Lab Neutered 100-lbs

Background: Leo's people just don't have the time for him.  He currently spends most the daytime alone in his backyard.

What Leo's Surrendering Owners Say: We've had Leo since he was a puppy. But we just do not have enough time for him. He is currently left alone outside in our backyard for upwards of 10 hours per day. He is goofy and full of energy. Leo is crated-trained... and sleeps in his crate at night. He knows a few commands including: "sit", "stay", "leave it", "go fetch", and "lay down". Leo spends upwards of ten hours each day alone in our backyard. He loves other dogs, chasing them and being chase. Lives with a small dog. Enjoys fetching tennis balls. Fine with cats. Loves his walks, but pulls a bit on leash. Not fully house-trained. Leo has been around young children -- does great with them. He needs someone who can play and walk him daily to match his energy. He is loving and kind.

What Leo's Rescue Rep Says: Our evaluator found Leo to be very energetic.  Readily sat and accepted a treat with a soft mouth.  No food guarding, even when eating alongside another dog.  Lovely dog; very trainable.  We are hoping to find Leo and active home where he is not left alone for long periods of time.

Medical: In fine health.  Current on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered.  Heartworm test pends.

Our volunteers donate their personal time phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
