Jasmine      8-month-old Black Lab mix   female Spayed

Background: Recently adopted from Lab Rescue, Jasmine's family realized that their young daughter had a debilitating allergy to dogs that now requires Jasmine to find a new forever home. Originally named Dot, she and her brother Dash were found as strays one day apart in mid-April in the central valley. We pulled them out of the Merced shelter.

What Jasmine's current adopter Says: Jasmine is very sweet-natured, 8-month-old, 40-pound puppy who loves snuggles, belly rubs, and play time. Jas plays well with my 8-year-old daughter, although she will sneak off with my daughter’s stuffies when she wants more attention :) Jas has a sleek profile, with striking light-brown/amber eyes, floppy ears, and a shiny black coat that does not shed much. She is very intelligent and quick to learn, she blasts through puzzle feeders, snuffle mats etc. She is potty trained (and usually only goes in the home yard and not during walks) and can follow sit, stay, and shake commands.

She loves to race other dogs in the park (her running is beautiful to watch!) and chase after balls. She walks well in the neighborhood, at times perfectly trotting by my side when I am running, although she gets very excited to see other dogs and will pull at the leash and bark with her tail wagging, so she could use some leash training. She likes to lounge around during the day and sunbathe, and she is happy to sit with me while I work. “Heaven” for Jasmine is a frozen peanut butter kong, she will lick this to sleep and sleep through the night in her crate and be waiting patiently in the morning for me to let her out (although she will let me know if I oversleep . . .) The vet recently gave her a perfect health score, and he guesses that Jas will be less than 50 pounds as an adult.

What Jasmine's Rescue Rep Says: What a wonderful, vibrant young dog. Would be great in a home with children and/or another dog.

Medical: In fine health. Spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and taking heartworm preventive.

Our volunteers donate their personal time phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
