Clover 3 months old, Female mix ~25 lbs Not yet spayed

Background: Found as a stray on the streets of San Francisco... at less than 2-months-old. You gotta be kidding me. San Francisco Animal Care and Control contacted us immediately and we were delighted to promptly get her into a foster home where she is now thriving.

What Clover's Foster Says: 🍀 Clover may be a bit small for her age, but she makes up for it with a big, funny personality. She’s cautious and curious, with just enough independence to keep you smiling. Once she’s had a chance to warm up, she is a very playful, grass-rolling, slipper stealing, belly-rub-loving pup who’s convinced life is best lived outdoors… yet she will be the first to want to snuggle with you when the sun goes down. She has already learned how to fetch with consistency, and we can tell she loves water. Her favorite game is chasing a stream of water from the hose! Affectionate, playful, and clever, she’ll charm her way into your heart in no time. I think she would do well with another older dog in the home, that can continue toi mentor her. I took the liberty of having her DNA analyzed, and she came back 49% golden retriever, 26% pit bull terrier, and 25% German shepherd dog -- no Lab. Hah! She is 110% cuteness. But wait; she is also 100% potty-trained.

From Gracie, the Resident Big Sister. Well, Clover has joined me as my new intern, and I have to say…she’s pretty cute. She’s learning fast, especially when it comes to the game of tug, and I’ve even been showing her the fine art of keep-away with the toys. She keeps me on my toes, but I don’t mind. I think she’s going to make a great little family member.

What Clover's Rescue Rep Says: Clover will melt your heart. Needs an adopter that is around a lot to tend to Clover's needs and demands. We have Clover enrolled in a puppy socialization class in the north bay... so we'd love her adopter to be in Marin or Sonoma County. Her current foster wants to offer puppy-sitting services (in Novato) should the adopter need them from time to time -- what a deal! Clover would do great in a home with an existing dog. Clover would do best in a home that makes blueberry pancakes every Sunday morning.

Medical: Clover is still pending her third and final distemper vaccination. Current on her Rabies vax. Microchipped. Following the initial report of a "heart murmur" by the shelter vet, we had Clover seen by a doggie cardiologist in San Rafael who determined she has a mild case of pulmonary stenosis (narrowing of pulmonary valve). This congenital disease is not a huge risk for Clover, but the cardiologist recommends that she be seen by a cardiologist annually to ensure her heart is doing okay. We will work with the adopter to have Clover spayed in a few months.

Our volunteers donate their personal time phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
