BAILEY

Bailey: 9.5-year-old female chocolate Lab, ~70 lbs, spayed

Background: Bailey has lived with her family who loves and cares for her deeply since she was a puppy. Unfortunately Bailey has not been comfortable since their infant son, now a toddler, joined the pack. The family has sadly realized that the best situation for all may be to rehome Bailey and they contacted GGLRR to find Bailey a loving new forever home.

What Baileys's Owner Says: Bailey is a 9.5yr old chocolate lab and a loyal friend. Although not the cuddly type, she wants to be near you constantly and will never leave your side. Her favorite pastime is swimming and will go all day if you let her. Even at 9.5 yrs old, you rarely see her age due to her silly nature. Bailey is well trained and would make a great addition to any older family looking for a new best friend.

What Bailey's Rescue Rep Says: Bailey is a loving dog who just wants to hang out and “be” with her person. She would do best in a quiet home without small children or other dogs around (she can get possessive of food/toys with other dogs). She is fine with cats. Someone with a backyard to play fetch and/or a swimming pool who is looking for a companion dog could be a great fit. She was initially trained as a hunting dog and does better walking on a long loose leash than a short leash (she will pull on a short leash).

Medical: Bailey is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vax, with a recent heartworm negative test. She is prone to ear infections which have received regular treatment. She had ACL surgeries on both knees when she was younger and still loves to run and play fetch. She has been treated for some hip pain which may be contributing to her discomfort with the unpredictable actions of a toddler.

Located In: Brentwood.

Our volunteers donate their personal time phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
